She attended Clemson University in Clemson, SC, earning her B.S. degree in Health Science. Shortly thereafter, in 1997, Jenna completed a 1,088 hour massage certification program at the Utah College of Massage Therapy in Salt Lake City, Utah, earning specialization in sports and rehabilitative massage. She furthered her studies in southern Oregon as one of the first interns at the Herb Pharm and was fortunate to learn from senior herbalists, naturopaths, permaculturists and a spirited Lakota Medicine Woman. Jenna decided to head south to warmer weather to elevate her massage and herbal training with advanced spa training in southern California. While there, she achieved the highest level of spa education through ASTECC (Advanced Spa Therapy Education Certification Council), which launches practitioners into the top 2% of the industry and trains teams in some of the most prestigious spas around the world.
A few of the highlights of her professional career include working as Lead Therapist on numerous celebrities at Montage Resort & Spa in Southern California and Olympic athletes during her time in Georgia as owner of Revolutionary Massage & Wellness. She is also a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the American Herbalists Guild.
Jenna approaches every session with compassion, care and warmth, creating a healing relationship with her clients that is built upon trust and the willingness to surrender. Providing the space for others to experience even a moment of deeper self-awareness is the wonder that continues to captivate Jenna in her work.
Melanie Fontaine, Co-founder/Co-owner of Urban Bliss Holistic Boutique, is a recent graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture in Newton, MA. Melanie spent most of her years in Massachusetts with a short stay in scenic Vermont and graduated top of her class from both the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the Community College of Vermont. When asked about what led her to the field of Oriental medicine;
“It’s always been a part of my life; I just began to realize its power & beauty as I grew older…”
Her love for nature, the healing arts and helping others in need led her to NESA where she was able to work alongside brilliant practitioners and learn first hand what it meant to alleviate pain and restore health. Studying abroad in Shenyang, China and Tokyo, Japan intensified her love for the Asian culture.
“Being a practitioner of both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, I see and appreciate both the beauty and efficacy of each style. I often believe less is more and so much can be accomplished without ever inserting a needle into the body. Healing begins when you come into the healing space with an open mind, an open heart, and a willingness To allow the therapeutic relationship to blossom into a trusting healthcare partnership.”
Gentleness, accuracy & compassion make up every interaction Melanie has with her clients. Making a difference in their lives is the most rewarding aspect of working so closely with the community.
